Arthroscopic Osteochondral Repair (OCD)

Osteochondral defect treatment depends on the look of the cartilage surface after MRI. An intact cartilage surface is healed with rest for an extended period. For a broken and fragmented cartilage surface, surgery may be recommended. Surgery is usually performed arthroscopically. Instances on which the bone is damaged badly, transplantation of a piece of bone and cartilage from another part of the body is performed, arthroscopically. Recovery depends on the type of surgery.
